The
Dublin software house Sirona Technologies Limited has recently
launched a new integrated Light Manufacturing module as part
of its Business Enterprise suite of software known simply
as SIRONA.
This
new manufacturing module integrates both with all existing
SIRONA modules as well as with the chosen best of breed Financial
Management suites such as OpenAccounts and Sage.
This
new SIRONA module was developed following requests from customers
and prospective customers for an integrated module that would
provide an operational control and management link between
the Stock, Warehouse and Sales Order Processing Systems and
the Assembly / Light Manufacturing operations.
As
Alan Egan Sirona's Managing Director said; "While most
SIRONA users would not require a full MRP2 Manufacturing Control
system, many companies within our target market, both within
Ireland and the UK, do actually produce product from kits
and sub-assemblies and hence do have a requirement for some
form of mini-manufacturing system. It was because of this
demand from the market that we first began development work
on what we are proud to launch today. It is an excellent piece
of software, developed in the latest version of Progress and
fully integrated with the rest of SIRONA. We are extremely
confident that it will prove to be very popular with our customers
and hence a very successful addition to the SIRONA suite."

The
Sirona Light Manufacturing module contains a host of excellent
features and benefits for the user. These include a Shop Floor
Calendar and a Planning Requirement unit that looks at orders
and calculates what will be needed and when by continually
analysing the Bill of Materials. It also has a Materials &
Purchases Planning system for both manufacture and purchase
control. This new module also caters for the control of Operation
Routes for products and individual operations as well as providing
users with an ability to fix Operation codes and rates per
quantity made. It also provides the following features:

for any number of components in a kit

can be stock items, other kits or additional costs

can be allocated to a Make Order or Pick Plan

can be automatically generated or entered manually
